Hello everyone  well I have trouble opening a bottle of bleach no matter how much I press and twist it does not happen ha ha

Gordy has just been up so I got him to open it for me and then I will leave the top loose ha ha  I made him a bacon and egg sandwich so he was delighted lol

Jenny, do the rubber jar openers help with the bleach bottles. My bleach comes from Tesco and if Noeleen's are like those I think it would be a two person job using the rubber band because you have to simultaneously press down quite hard and unscrew the cap. It depends how tightly the cap is fixed on whether I can open them or not.

My favourite opener is an old Prestige  metal gripper with three or four settings. It's fine except for the type of jar that  has  a lid with nowhere to put the jaws of the gripper.

I find it also helps to put jars etc. onto a non slip mat so you get full value for the energy expended.

Betty - if the jar/bottle is an absolute s** I sit on my gardening stool which is quite low and hold the item between my feet - not elegant, but leaves a hand for steadying.  The rubber thing is circular and flat - gives a better grip than damp tea towel.  I used to use the metal gripper type but I do not have the strength in hands to hold it!

I have used the rubber thingy with bleach bottles and definitely need to hold bottle between feet so that I can press down with both hands.  I have same trouble with tomato feed bottles etc.  If expletives count as another language I become multi lingual over night!  I am glad I do not like Kraft cheese slices...........

Very warm Nordic walking this morning Just had a realaxing lunch at home before doing more work on our land No excuse like Wimbledon this week !

Holidaymakers everywhere here as well Carol Worst problem is on the narrow forest road I was on this morning is all the people stopping dead in the middle of the road when they see a mare and foal ! There are also lots of baby donkeys wandering about and they have far less road sense than Forest ponies Lots of cyclists as well

Hope this lovely summer continues

Rosemary

The last 2 mornings it has been 8C lows - but yesterday it wriggled up to 28C. Today it was 15C (noticeably warmer) and is now 28.3C and rising. Lovely breeze though so it is nice  Laughing

We have more than our share of tourists too - forget going anywhere at the weekend! Apparently the numbers of "overnights" are up 2.5% on last year. As people are staying for fewer nights that means there are a lot of extra people driving about coming and going. Germans have gone off Turkey and Egypt it seems...
