This forum is honestly very simple to use. But like all new things it may take a bit of getting used to at first. I always say that if I can do it, anyone can because I have had no formal training and just read the instructions and have a go

Sometimes I get it wrong but we all learn by our mistakes (as my granny used to tell me)

FIRST OF ALL THOUGH MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THE ADDRESS OF THE FORUM TO YOUR'FAVOURITES' OR 'BOOKMARKS' - THEN YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ABLE TO FIND US!

The best advice I can give next is - obviously - to register as a member by following the instructions when you have clicked on the button at the top of the page (it says REGISTER) and give it a go. When you fill in the details make certain that you get your email address correct and that you remember your password and user name - you will need them every time you use the forum!!

Then you scroll to the bottom of the page then click on 'SUBMIT' you will be sent an activation email to the email address that you stated. You will need to click on this before your membership is activated and you can use the forum.

When this is done you can use the forum properly. Read the list of topics and if there is one which is of specific interest to you click on the heading of that topic. That will take you into a list of subjects that have been entered and you can join in the 'conversation' on that subject or start a new subject of your own.

To begin why not reply to someone's previous entry (this is known as 'a post') To do this is simple:-

WHEN YOU HAVE READ THE POST LOOK AT THE BOTTOM LEFT AND YOU WILL SEE A 'BUTTON' WHICH SAYS [POST REPLY] CLICK ON THIS BUTTON.

WHEN YOU HAVE DONE THIS A BOX WILL APPEAR FOR YOU TO TYPE IN YOUR REMARKS. THEN YOU JUST SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM AND CLICK ON 'SUBMIT'
YOUR MESSAGE NOW APPEARS ON THE FORUM UNDERNEATH THE LAST ONE.

If you get stuck don't worry, help is always at hand, but do use the FAQ button as well - it is on the bar at the top of the page. The answers to all of life's mysteries (well the ones relating to this forum!) are probably there. If not just ask and I will do what I can to help.

YOU CAN ALWAYS CONTACT ME BY CLICKING ON 'MEMBERLIST' AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE - MY NAME IS AT THE TOP.

CLICK ON EITHER PM OR EMAIL AND JUST SEND ME A MESSAGE. I WILL GET BACK TO YOU AS SOON AS I CAN.

Infuriatingly I can no longer see the New Posts Since Last Visit link when I log in. Yes, I can use the index but that takes me to the first entry of every subject and some go back a long, long way.

Is this just me? If it's general then it's a retrograde step in my opinion. Please can we have it back or I'm going to become very unwilling to log in and if I don't have the time to trawl through I'm sure most others don't, either.

PS

Also the edit button has gone.

However I've just put New Posts since last visit in the search box and a list does appear but what a convoluted way to have to go!

Correction: edit button appeared on this page but not when I first posted. Rest of complaint still applies.
